Who pays for what at my wedding?

You have a dream wedding planned in your mind, but do you know who's going to pay for what at the wedding?

Traditionally, the bride's family would pick up the tab but with the average cost of a wedding skyrocketing, and more couples getting married later in life, these traditional roles are far from set in stone.

Some Senarios:

The Brides Family - All reception costs, ceremony costs, flowers for both ceremony and receptioin, brides wedding dress and accessories, invitations, announcements, programs, and mailing costs, favors, photography, transporation, their own travel expenses and attire.

The Grooms Family - The rehearsal dinner, their own travel expenses and attire, a wedding present.

The Bride - A gift for the groom, her hair, makeup and beauty treatments, gifts for her attendants.

The Groom - The marriage license, the brides engagement and wedding ring, the honeymoon, a gift for the bride, the brides bouquet, gifts for his attendatns, corsages for the mothers and grandmothers, boutonnieres for the men in the wedding party, fee for the officiant.

About Behind The Scenes Inc

Burning Candles Successfully & Beautiful Candle Centerpieces

Candlelight is a great mood enhancer. It is probably one of the easiest ways to add instant atmosphere to any room. Available in a huge array of sizes, shapes and wax "types" leads to a few questions on how to best care for your candles. Here are a few tips and tricks that may add to your experience and extend the life of your candles:

Burn your pillar candle one hour for every inch of its diameter. This will aid in a more even burn because the candles wax has more time to burn to the outter rim of the candle.

Before you light your candle, trim the wick to one- quarter inch. Repeat every time you light the candle. This will ensure a clean, smoke-free burn. Invest in superior quality candles - they are virtually smokeless.

Candles need oxygen. If you burn a candle in a confined area it may smoke. Consider the size of the room and the location of the candles. Avoid drafty locations.

To guard your candles against fading, avoid placing them in direct sunlight.

Store your candles in a dry, cool, dark place.

Wax candle adapters are the easiest way to hold a taper candle in place and prevent it from tipping over. The soft wax is pliable and sticks to both holder and candle.

Remember:

1. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

2. Keep candles out of the reach of children.

3. Always place your candles on sturdy, non-flammable holders, in sizes appropriate for the candles.

4. Never burn a candle completely. Dispose of it when it burns to within one inch of the base.

5. Remember to remove the labels on your candles.

Megan & Brian's Wedding

This past weekend I had the honor of helping one really great bride pull off a fun, wonderful and love filled wedding day!

The event was held at their family home. The ceremony took place on a dock with about 100 or so close friends and family. During the ceremony an arial photographer flew overhead to get some really wonderful photos! The brides God Mother preformed the ceremony and the bride and groom wrote their own vows, there were many tears among guests!

The reception took place up the hill under a fantastic tent. The food was wonderful, the company was even greater. Her colors were teal blue and white and under that tent on such a sunny day, there couldn't have been better colors.

The guests loved the fan favors and great mustaches, as the bridal party even took photos with them on! What great fun was had by all! You can see more great photos of this wedding on our website at www.behindthescenesinc.com.

Emerald Isle, NC Wedding

Talk about heat...even at 10am it was 85 degrees outside when the ceremony started. It was however very beautiful and very romantic. The ceremony over looked our big beautiful ocean, the day was just sunny enough and family and friends were out in support of the bride and groom.

The bride and bridal party had a long walk over a deck and down to the arbor which was draped in fabric and red and white rose vines.

The reception was held outside at the Islander Hotel in Emerald Isle, NC also over looking the ocean. The theme of course was an ocean wedding with wonderful wedding accessories with star fish, centerpieces were blue water and floating candles.

All of the guests had a really great time and the bride and groom were just happy to be married! As for me...I was happy to get out of the heat!
